Jethro Tull, led by the ever-charismatic Ian Anderson announces new album “Live From Baloise Session” through earMUSIC.
Jethro Tull, led by the ever-charismatic Ian Anderson – hailed as the man who brought the flute to rock music – forged a genre-defying path through rock history. Blending classical, folk, jazz, and hard rock in groundbreaking ways, Jethro Tull have become one of the most distinctive, successful and enduring bands in progressive rock music.
In 2008 Jethro Tull dazzled the Basel Festival crowd with a performance of power & passion. Previously only available as a DVD edition this 90-minutes live set is now becoming available for the first time in audio form.
“As always, the prospect of a live recording places a greater-than-usual sense of concentration and responsibility on the musicians.”, says Ian Anderson. “Added stress for us perhaps but we had the determination to match. The easy-going informality of this fine concert venue in the beautiful city of Basel transfers to the band and audience alike providing a memorable occasion for all.”
“Live From Baloise Session” will be released in Europe on June 13th, 2025, as a 2CD Digipak and Heavyweight 2LP Gatefold edition as well as worldwide for digital download and streaming. The US physical release will follow on August 15th, 2025.
