Sometimes, great ideas are born in the quietest of places. Such was the case in 1990, when music producer Frank Peterson — who would later co-create Enigma’s global hit ‘Sadeness Pt. I’ and the breakthrough album ‘MCMXC a.D.’ — walked through the hallowed halls of the El Escorial monastery in Spain. While listening to contemporary pop music on his Walkman, the echoes of history merged in his mind with the sounds of the present.
A quarter-century later, GREGORIAN look back on a unique success story with the anniversary album ‘25/2025‘, released in November 2024, which debuted at number 9 on the official German album charts. As part of the anniversary festivities, GREGORIAN embarked on their biggest and most spectacular tour to date with over 140 shows. Due to overwhelming demand the tour will continue this autumn with over 30 additional shows across Europe.
