Gregorian announces new album ’25 LIVE’ and releases first single and video for ‘Sky and Sand’ through earMUSIC.
The world’s most successful choir presents ‘25 LIVE’, a spectacular anniversary show: all the hits and fan favorites from 25 years of ‘Masters Of Chant’, recorded and filmed during their acclaimed ‘25th Anniversary Tour’ this year.
Sometimes, great ideas are born in the quietest of places. Such was the case in 1990, when music producer Frank Peterson — who would later co-create Enigma’s global hit ‘Sadeness Pt. I’ and the breakthrough album ‘MCMXC a.D.’ — walked through the hallowed halls of the El Escorial monastery in Spain. While listening to contemporary pop music on his Walkman, the echoes of history merged in his mind with the sounds of the present. From this vision, GREGORIAN was born, and in November 1999, their debut album ‘Masters Of Chant’ was released.
A quarter-century later, GREGORIAN looks back on a unique success story with the anniversary album ‘25/2025’, released in November 2024, which debuted at number 9 on the official German album charts. As part of the anniversary festivities, GREGORIAN embarked on their biggest and most spectacular tour to date with over 140 shows. Due to overwhelming demand the tour will continue this autumn with over 30 additional shows across Europe.
The album ‘25 LIVE’, set for release on November 7, captures this spectacular anniversary show in all its facets: moving concert moments, intimate behind-the-scenes insights, the faces behind the voices – and the magic of a project that fuses sound, spirituality, and emotion into a truly unique experience. Born from a quiet moment in an ancient monastery, ‘25 LIVE’ tells the story of a musical idea that went on to conquer the world.

Accompanying today’s announcement is the release of the first single ‘Sky And Sand (25th Anniversary Tour Version)’ – GREGORIAN’s interpretation of the iconic 2008 dance track by German electronic music producers and brothers Paul and Fritz Kalkbrenner. With their signature arrangement, GREGORIAN transform the electronic classic into a powerful sonic experience. At the same time, the accompanying video premieres today on the choir’s official YouTube channel.
